Do You Suffer From Chronic Sinus or Allergy Problems?

3D Dental X-rays can be your answer!

Dr. Gardner has specialized training in diagnosing chronic sinus infections and treating them if they are tooth-related

Chronic Sinus or Ear Problems?

40% of sinus infections are from teeth!

CBCT, dental 3D, dental 3D x-ray, cone beam

Medical CT's often miss dental infections

Our office is one of the only offices with 3D X-ray technology. It is called Cone Beam Computerized Technology (CBCT)

The infected tooth has eroded the sinus bone

The tooth is constantly pouring germs and bacteria into the sinus, leading to a chronic infection

CBCT Diagnosis

3D X-rays help us diagnose more than just dental-related sinus infections.

sinus cysts, cyst, polyp, polyps, sinus polyps

Cysts & Polyps

We found a huge cyst in this patient using 3D X-rays.  After the ENT removed the cyst, she feels much better because now she can breathe!!!

Tumors

Notice the bright white blob on the left half of the X-ray.  We found this on a routine exam and the patient had no symptoms. When the surgeon biopsied it, it was a tumor that would have eventually spread and cost this lady her life. BUT SHE IS ALIVE AND WELL THANKS TO 3D CONE BEAM TECHNOLOGY!

cracked tooth, cracked teeth, failed root canal, root canal gone bad, clogged ear, ear infection

Root Canal Gone Bad, Chronic Sinus Infection

This patient had an old root canaled tooth that bothered him.  For 4 years no dentist could find anything wrong because it did not show up on regular X-rays. He had also been through 2 painful sinus surgeries. After we took this 3D X-ray, I removed the tooth and suctioned out pus for 5 minutes. Suddenly the patient said "My ears popped and I can hear!  And I can breathe!"

2 years later, his sinuses and ears are still doing great.

Dental CBCT vs. Medical CT

Below are the benefits of a dental 3D CBCT scan over a medical CT

Regular X-rays Only Show 2 Dimensions

Conventional X-rays take a 2D image of a 3D object.  3D CBCT scans can see almost EVERYTHING!  Look at that huge crack that a normal X-ray would never be able to see.

sinus infections, chronic sinus infection, allergies, headaches, chronic headache, migraine

LOOK AT THAT SINUS FLUID!

The area above the teeth is the sinus and should be mostly clear (black in color) but those 2 infected molars are causing all that fluid (the milky white above all those teeth).  This guy complained of constant headaches and nosebleeds.  After fixing those bad teeth, guess what?  His headaches stopped and so did the irritating nosebleeds.

Other Benefits

Benefits of a dental CBCT:

  • easy - takes 14 seconds to scan
  • accessible - call us today for a scan!
  • affordable - $250 scan vs. expensive medical CT's
  • radiation - dental CBCT scans expose you to 10,000% less radiation than a medical CBCT

A dental cbct should never be used in lieu of a ct ordered by your medical doctor. use them when no other imaging is showing anything wrong or as a general screening tool for head, neck and sinus problems
